The Water Crisis

The national water crisis affects many people in their daily lives–with undrinkable and lead filled water driving the need to help communities where accessing clean drinking water is a challenge. This is a big problem for underprivileged people such as the homeless, students in poorer educational districts and people in developing countries whose choices for drinking water are either contaminated water which can lead to severe illness or no water at all.

Vidagua's Approach
Vidagua Foundation focuses on bringing water to these underprivileged communities both domestically in our United States and internationally. In the United States, Vidagua provides water fountains with filtration systems that remove contaminants to homeless shelters and to schools. Vidagua also brings water to people in developing countries by organizing projects to build wells in remote areas in Africa, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Vidagua’s strategic approach is focused on sustainability to ensure that our fountains and wells function well and are well maintained and that the beneficiaries fully participate in the projects and take ownership of the project sustainability. Vidagua has developed a number of sustainability approaches which build on capacity development and the participation of the beneficiaries to ensure that the water is safe to drink now and in the future.
